Pinus mugo var. pumilio
01798 879213. We've really become obsessed with collecting pines in the last couple of years. Pinus mugo 'Pumilio' is a textural delight with naturally forming voluptuous clouds of deep green, and an abundance of tight needles on upright-pointing branches. Perfect, we think, for creating exciting coniferous humps, bumps and hummocks.

Pinus mugo var. pumilio
Slow growing; reaches 3 to 5 ft. tall, 6 to 10 ft. wide in 10 years. Although Mugo Pine can grow taller with age, in the Japanese garden it is very carefully clipped into a neat mounding form. Of the small conifers, this is the easiest to grow in gardens and is often used individually or in small clusters with boulders.
